Classification and ownership
How an entry is placed on the balance sheet.
Classification
Decides which section of the balance sheet an approved entry goes in: Asset, Liability, Superannuation, Financial resource, or Not in pool.
When you approve an entry, we set a sensible default from its document type, so it lands on the balance sheet straight away:
| Document type | Default |
|---|---|
| Bank accounts, real property, shares, crypto, vehicles, business interests | Asset |
| Credit cards, mortgages and loans | Liability |
| Superannuation | Superannuation |
| Tax returns, payslips, insurance, custom documents | None (not a balance sheet line) |
You can always change it on the review screen. Your choice is never overwritten.
Ownership
Decides the column: Client only, Joint with the other party, or Joint with someone else. For the other side's entries: Other party only or Joint with our client.
