Welcome to Matter Folio
What Matter Folio does and how a matter flows from request to bundle.
Matter Folio replaces the email-and-spreadsheet chase for financial disclosure in property settlements. Your client uploads their documents into a simple checklist, you review each one beside its details, and the figures build your balance sheet and disclosure bundle for you.
How a matter flows
- Open a matter for your client and tick the documents you need.
- Your client gets an email, creates an account and works through their checklist, usually on their phone.
- You review each document beside its details: approve it, or ask for a new copy with a reason.
- Approved figures build the balance sheet automatically.
- Invite the other side's lawyer to upload the other party's disclosure, and disclose your client's documents to them, with a record of what they downloaded.
- Model outcomes (splits, who keeps what, add-backs) and download the balance sheet in the court's layout, in Word or Excel. These are part of the Family law module.
- Generate the disclosure bundle: a numbered PDF with an index, in one click.
- Close the matter when it's finished, and export everything for your file.
Who can see what
- Your firm's staff see the firm's matters. Firm admins and lawyers see every matter; paralegals, law clerks and admin staff see the matters they're added to.
- Your client sees only their own checklist and documents, and the balance sheet if you share it.
- The other side's lawyer sees what they upload, and the documents you choose to disclose to them. They never see your client's other documents, your notes, your scenarios or your balance sheet.
